Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour that contribute to anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, and other mental health struggles. By identifying negative thought patterns and developing practical coping strategies, CBT empowers you, reduces distress, and builds resilience and self esteem. This structured, goal-oriented therapy is effective for a wide range of concerns and provides tools that can be applied in daily life to improve emotional well-being and overall quality of life.

Trauma & PTSD Therapy

Many people continue to struggle long after a painful or traumatic experience. Have you had a hard time finding peace, connection and joy since a stressful experience? You may notice anxiety, fear, guilt and shame, emotional numbness, avoidance, nightmares, flashbacks, or a deep sense of hopelessness that doesn’t seem to fade. These are common responses to trauma and can make daily life feel overwhelming or unsafe. The challenges trauma brings to our lives often creates ripple effects on our relationships, self worth, substance use, and work performance.

Our mental health counselling services provide warm, client-centered, trauma-focused support to help you work through these symptoms at your own pace. We support clients through the complex process of grief, recovery, anger, and healing, using approaches that are respectful, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs.

Our team is trained in proven, evidence-based therapies for PTSD and trauma-related concerns. More information about our clinicians and treatment approaches is available on our team page.

Relationship / Couples Therapy

Relationships can feel strained, disconnected, or stuck like room-mates, especially when life brings stress, loss, changes, or unexpected challenges. Relationship counselling can support couples and families at any stage, whether you’re hoping to rebuild trust and safety, improve communication, or feel emotionally closer again.

Our experienced couples therapists work with a wide range of concerns, including substance use, neurodivergence, infidelity, grief, and the many complex ways relationships are tested over time. Counselling sessions are designed to be a supportive, safe, and accountable space where all individuals are heard. Together, we focus on understanding patterns, addressing challenges, and developing practical solutions to help strengthen and sustain your relationship.

Addiction / Substance Use Therapy

Substance use is often a way of coping with stress, trauma, or overwhelming emotions and you are not alone in this experience. Our addictions counselling offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore the story and roots behind your addiction, reduce and process shame, and build on your existing strengths and values.

Our counsellors take a compassionate, strengths-based approach to recovery and understand that change looks different for everyone. Many members of our team bring lived experience with addiction and recovery, allowing for deeper empathy, understanding, and practical support. We invite you to review our team biographies to find a counsellor who feels like the right fit for your recovery journey.

Our approach is gentle, relational, and tailored to each child’s developmental stage. Neurodivergence

We provide affirming, inclusive, and neurodiversity-informed therapy for individuals who identify as neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent experiences. Our approach recognizes neurodivergence as a natural variation of human experience rather than something that needs to be “fixed.” Therapy focuses on building self-understanding, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and confidence, while addressing challenges related to relationships, work, school, sensory processing, burnout, and mental health. We work collaboratively to develop practical, personalized strategies that support daily functioning and well-being, while honouring each client’s strengths, identity, and lived experience. Our goal is to create a safe, validating space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered.

Grief

Grief therapy offers compassionate and supportive care for individuals navigating loss in its many forms, including the death of a loved one, the end of relationships, loss of identity, health changes, or major life transitions. Grief is deeply personal, and there is no “right” timeline or way to experience it. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can express emotions openly, process complex feelings, and make sense of their loss at their own pace. Therapy may focus on coping with emotional pain, managing daily functioning, addressing guilt or trauma, and finding meaning after loss. Our approach honours each person’s unique grief journey while supporting healing, resilience, and ongoing connection.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

We provide evidence-based therapy for individuals living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD can involve intrusive, distressing thoughts and repetitive behaviours or mental rituals that interfere with daily life. Our therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients understand the nature of obsessive thoughts, reduce compulsive responses, and develop healthier coping strategies. Treatment aims to decrease anxiety, build tolerance for uncertainty, and restore a sense of control and confidence. We work collaboratively with clients to address how OCD impacts relationships, work, routines, and overall well-being. Our goal is to support long-term symptom management, improved functioning, and a better quality of life in a supportive and respectful environment.

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to support individuals who experience intense emotions, mood instability, or difficulty in relationships. Originally developed for borderline personality disorder, DBT is now widely used for anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviours, and trauma-related challenges.

DBT focuses on building four core skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Clients learn how to manage overwhelming feelings, cope with crisis situations in healthier ways, and communicate their needs more effectively. The therapy balances acceptance and change — helping individuals feel validated while also working toward meaningful behavioural growth and emotional stability.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective, trauma-focused therapy that helps individuals process and heal from distressing life experiences. Traumatic memories can become “stuck” in the brain, continuing to trigger emotional and physical reactions long after the event has passed. EMDR works to reprocess these memories so they feel less intense and disruptive.

Using guided bilateral stimulation — such as eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues — EMDR supports the brain’s natural healing process. It is commonly used for PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, phobias, grief, and negative self-beliefs. Many clients experience relief without needing to verbally revisit every detail of their trauma, making EMDR a gentle yet powerful therapeutic approach.

IFS (Internal Family Systems)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, insight-oriented therapy that explores the different “parts” within each person. These parts may include protective parts, wounded inner children, critical voices, or coping mechanisms that developed over time. Rather than viewing these parts as problems, IFS understands them as protective responses that need care and healing.

Through guided exploration, clients learn to access their core “Self” — the calm, wise, and compassionate center within. From this place, they can build relationships with their internal parts, heal emotional wounds, and release limiting beliefs. IFS is especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration, fostering deep self-acceptance and inner harmony.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps individuals develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present and engaged with life even in the face of difficult thoughts and emotions. Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT teaches clients how to accept inner experiences while choosing actions aligned with their personal values.

ACT integrates mindfulness practices, cognitive defusion techniques, and behavioural change strategies. Clients learn how to step back from unhelpful thought patterns, reduce avoidance behaviours, and commit to meaningful life directions. ACT is effective for anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, and life transitions, supporting long-term emotional resilience and purpose-driven living.

DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting)

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is an advanced, neuroscience-informed trauma therapy that works with the brain’s deepest survival and attachment systems. It focuses on the orienting response — the brain’s immediate reaction to shock, threat, or relational rupture — which often occurs before conscious awareness. Trauma can become imprinted at this deep level, shaping emotional and relational patterns.

DBR gently tracks the body’s micro-responses and nervous system activation linked to traumatic experiences. By processing these imprints slowly and safely, clients can resolve shock trauma, attachment wounds, and early developmental injuries. DBR supports profound emotional regulation, increased safety in relationships, and long-term nervous system healing.
