Meka is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychotherapist with over seven years of professional experience supporting survivors of brain injury and concurrent mental health issues. Meka holds a Recreation Therapy diploma from Niagara College, a Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies with a major in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in Sociology from Brock University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Meka specializes in supporting adults (18+) who are navigating stress, life transitions, trauma, including PTSD/C-PTSD, attachment wounds, relational challenges, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, and sexual assault/abuse. With a strong foundation in psychodynamic and attachment theory, Meka deeply understands how early life experiences influence our capacity to cope with difficulties and build meaningful connections with others. With a blend of professional expertise and lived experience, Meka creates a warm, supportive space where individuals can explore difficult experiences and emotions at their own pace. Her trauma-informed, integrative approach is tailored to each person’s unique needs, incorporating modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, and elements of Somatic Experiencing (SE).
