Sliding Scale?  Full

Emily grew up in the Niagara Region and knew from a young age that she wanted to work in a field that allowed her to help and serve those around her. After taking some time off, she very clearly felt called to Social Work and started to pursue that. She never felt “smart enough” to attend university and therefore began her journey at Niagara College and after proving to herself that her limited beliefs could be reframed, continued to pursue more education. Emily has obtained her Diploma of Social Service Work from Niagara College, a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Social Development Studies and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in the Indigenous Field of Study Program. Each of her degrees were presented with honours. It is through strength, determination, and  perseverance that Emily proved limited beliefs can be reframed. That by finding a path that is unique to you, that you can also unlearn and rebuild these limited beliefs in your own life. Emily hopes that by working alongside her, you will have all of the help and support that she is able to provide you with to empower your own change and growth. To be able to go out into this world and make positive impacts for yourself and for those around you that only you are able to do. Emily has extensive experience supporting children, youth and adults with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, neuro-divergence, identity, self esteem, anxiety, depression, and addictions. As an Indigenous psychotherapist who also identifies as Christian, Emily weaves holistic teachings, and the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel into her practice. She honours the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, and emotions, creating a culturally grounded and compassionate space for healing. Emily integrates traditional knowledge with contemporary therapeutic approaches to support clients in restoring balance, strengthening identity, and reconnecting with their inner resilience. Integrating Christian principles of grace, hope, and restoration, she views healing as a journey toward balance across the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of life. Emily offers a compassionate space where culture, faith, and clinical insight can work together to support meaningful healing. Specializations/Offerings: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Yoga and Meditation (RYT), Indigenous Counselling (self-identified Indigenous Woman), Christian Counselling.
