Anya is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is in the process of completing her Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Anya first came to Niagara to complete her Bachelors of Art Degree in Community Health, then completed an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health at Humber Polytechnic. Anya has spent the past six years working in supporting mental health professions. Her professional background includes working in secondary and post-secondary settings in student affairs and working with youth and young adults in supporting mental health and addiction concerns at multiple non-profit agencies. Anya brings her lived experience as a 2SLGBTQ+ community member and her own mental health journey into her work. Anya’s practice focuses on a person-centred approach; creating non-judgemental, hopeful, warm, and curious environments where people can feel validated, supported, and learn skills and strategies to meet their goals. Anya works with individuals who are navigating challenges that include anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, trauma, relationship struggles, identity concerns, and life transitions. Anya is an eclectic therapist who is looking forward to connecting with clients ages 12+ and couples.
