Iris is a Registered Psychotherapist who completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Prior to this, Iris completed her Bachelors in Community Health Science at Brock, and a Masters in Development Studies at York University. Iris has over 12 years of experience supporting individuals impacted by traumatic and life changing events, with a focus on those impacted by traumatic losses, interpersonal violence, and abuse. She excels in supporting individuals struggling with grief, PTSD, and trauma, as well as those with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles. Iris’ compassionate, responsive, and caring approach creates a warm and supportive environment to begin your restorative journey. A foundational respect for your unique struggles, strengths and capacities infuses her collaborative therapeutic approach. Iris is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Eye Movement-Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Prolonged Grief Treatment. Iris also applies theory and approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in sessions to meet her client’s unique needs.
