Theresa is a Registered Psychotherapist through the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). Over the past five years, she has practiced and refined her clinical skills providing therapy to children and families in Hamilton. As a wife, mother, and bonus mom, Theresa understands the care and skills involved in building and nurturing meaningful connections. She values family not only through biology, but also through the family we choose through partnerships, friendships and community. This belief guides her in supporting others as they find a sense of belonging. When we grow up without supportive, healthy connections, we may struggle to connect with others in the ways we desire. Children may act out or shut down, while adults may become overly critical of themselves and hold unrealistic ideas about where and how their emotional needs can be met. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-informed, relational approaches, Theresa supports children ages 4 and older, parents, and adults in deepening their understanding of the parts of themselves that need tending to, and in developing skills and strategies to move forward in ways that feel better.
