Alyson is joining Nova Phoenix as a placement student from the University of Toronto’s Master’s of Social Work program. She is offering sessions at a reduced rate of $20 for individuals who would otherwise not be able to afford or access therapy. Alyson is a Registered Social Worker with 10 years of experience in the field. She currently works for Niagara Health as well as a Psychotherapist with children and youth. She has also worked in youth homelessness, Indigenous healthcare, supporting victims of gender-based violence and human trafficking, and related mental health services. Outside of school, Alyson teaches puppy yoga at a local studio and enjoys reading, Raptors basketball, summer and concerts. She is a cat-mom and will happily show you photos! Alyson will be providing counselling services at Nova Phoenix for children, youth and adults. She specializes in trauma, childhood abuse, gender-based violence, mental health and disability. Her goal is to support those she works with to live happier and healthier lives.
